Re-Centering in God’s Word

  1. 11.  LOSS  OF  HEART   TO  ADMIRE

Follow the Holy Spirit’s Wisdom:

Finally, brothers and sisters,

whatever is true, whatever is noble,

whatever is right, whatever is pure,

whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable

—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—

think about such things.

[Ph 4: 8-9]

Pray God to take away your  Blindness

Humbly ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see what is excellent and praiseworthy. Humbly ask  this because having such an attitude of gratitude creates energy-filled hope to do good, to do the Father’s will 24/7.  But also humbly ask the Spirit because such an attitude is--and can only be--the result of the Holy Spirit’s new creation work to build up the mind of Christ in you.  Holy Spirit, I humbly ask that you take away my blindness and lead me to see whatever in the Father’s eyes are excellent and praiseworthy.

Ask the Spirit to make you a Praiseworthy  an Excellent relationship builder on earth.

O Spirit, costly gift of God to me, increase my partnership with you, who live in me, so that I become an instrument of your peace.  O Spirit, may I be your vessel to spread your love, pardon, faith, hope, and joy wherever there is hatred, injury, doubt, despair, and sadness.   (CwHS)

O Spirit, make my heart meek and humble like Jesus’ so that I might console, understand, and love others.  Strengthen me against my craving to be consoled, to be understood, and to be loved.  Help me crucify (regulate) any cravings, compulsions, or addictions that dehumanize me, cause others to suffer, or hinder building healthy relationships.   (CwHS)

O True Friend, constant Sustainer and ever-patient Adviser and Teacher, thank you for your new creation at work in me.  [Ga 6:15]  The old me is dying, the new me becoming more like Christ is your work!  [2 Cor 5:17; 3:17-18]  Thank you for your relentless love that first creates my aspiration to be like Christ and then creates his servant attitude in me.  [Rm 8:3, 30]   (CwHS)

O Holy Spirit, Indwelling Teacher and most sure Guide of those who listen for your voice in the Scriptures and in your wondrous creation. Lead me into the radiant, inner life of the Father and the Son, as Jesus so ardently prayed: “Father, I pray that all who believe in me may be one, just as you are in me and I am in you.  May _____ also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given _____ the glory that you gave me so that _____ may be one as we are one: I in _____ and you in me.”  [IB Jn 17:20-23]    (CwHS) 

When re-centered in God’s word, thank God by telling God how much you appreciate being taught wisdom from his very mouth.

           One lives by every word that comes from

           the mouth of God and not by bread alone.

            [Dt 8:3; Mt 4:4]. 

God is coaching eternal-life skills and restoring your strength to fight in the ever present now to build up God’s kingdom on earth as it is heaven.  The fruit of the Spirit will blossom in you, bear fruit, and glorify God.
